I’ve been having a website for ten years now, having started in March 1996. (At the time I was a pioneer, I mean for an Italian artist.) If supermarkets do celebrate their anniversary, why shouldn’t I? I make a logo and put it online, feeling like I was giving a party. Pity it’s only a virtual one.
And as anyone does on anniversaries, I think back to my early net-art works, like the first,simple gif-animated works, in 1997, which exploited creatively the random, slow way files had to download (see Unlove), or the visual journal of 2001, and so on. Many things have changed since, even the definition of net-art, and now a journal online is a blog.
